How the hire works

£0 room hire.
You just spend it at the bar.

A £500 minimum bar spend on a Friday or Saturday works out at about £8 a head for 60 people, and all of it goes on drinks. Your deposit comes off the tab on the night.

How booking works

No room hire fee. Just a minimum bar spend.

£150 depositSecures your date and comes off your bill on the night. Pay it by bank transfer or at the bar once your date is confirmed.
CancellingCancel 14 days or more before and you get the deposit back in full. Under 14 days, the deposit is kept.
DecemberDecember bookings need 28 days' notice to get the deposit back.
The minimum spendIf the bar spend comes in under the minimum, the difference is charged at the end of the night.

Questions people ask before they book.

Do you do Christmas parties?

Yes, and November and December go first. Same deal as any other night: no room fee, just a minimum bar spend. December minimum bar spend: £850 Thursday to Saturday, £500 Sunday to Wednesday. Send the date and we'll confirm within the hour.

Is there really no room hire fee?

Correct. There's a minimum spend at the bar instead, and your deposit comes off it on the night.

How many people fit?

Up to 60 standing or around 40 seated, with the Chesterfields, dining tables and the pool table all in the room.

Can we bring our own food or cake?

There's no kitchen in the pub, so you've got options: TUFFY'S pizza in the yard Wednesday to Sunday, 6pm to 11pm, bring in your own caterer, or bring your own food. Cake is always welcome.

Can we bring decorations?

Yes. Balloons, banners, photos, bring them along and we'll help put them up. No confetti cannons or anything that marks the walls.

What time does it finish?

Bar till midnight Sunday to Wednesday, 1am Thursday, 2am Friday and Saturday.

How can we pay?

Once your date is confirmed, pay the deposit by bank transfer (we'll send our details with your booking reference) or in person at the bar. The £150 deposit comes off your bill on the night, and the rest goes on the bar tab. Nothing is taken until then.

Where is it exactly?

The Boston Arms, 178 Junction Road, London N19 5QQ. Directly opposite Tufnell Park station on the Northern line. The Snug has its own entrance.
